Confederation of Nepal Industry (CNI) has organized a Skill Gap Analysis prior to the ‘CNI Jobs and Skills’ fair. Organized in coordination with the Education Council of the Confederation and the Employers’ Council, this program focused on basic skills for entry-level and mid-level applicants in the Nepalese job market, the process of hiring new manpower at the entry and mid-level levels, and the challenges of hiring new manpower.
Similarly, issues related to the generation of skilled manpower and qualities and skills required in the new generation for employment among others were discussed among the target group and suggestions were also collected. Mid Valley International College was the intellectual partner of the program with more than 30 companies participating in the Skill Gap Analysis including information technology, agriculture, and hospitality.
At least five hundred thousand people are looking for employment in the country every year. It is also seen that various companies are demanding employees from work to the management level. However, on the one hand, the companies are not able to get employees as per the requirement and it seems that the people who are looking for employment are not able to apply and get in touch with the respective companies.
There is also a situation of getting employees but not being able to get skilled employees. What is the reason that there is no harmony between employers and potential employees? What is the role of the private sector and government agencies? CNI JOBS AND SKILLS FAIR is being held focusing on this issue.
CNI Job and Skill Fair will act as a bridge to connect different companies and job seekers in one place. Similarly, there will be a broad discussion on how to meet the needs of employers and the demand for skilled employees.
