Successful Completion of IFRS Certificate Training Program in Biratchowk, Morang

    EDUCAST, One-Day training program on the Certificate in International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) was successfully conducted at Hotel Nepalirika in Biratchowk, Morang District. This event was jointly organized by ACCA Nepal and NCA College of Management. The training was specifically designed for 80 teachers from 70 colleges across the districts of Morang, Sunsari, and Jhapa, who teach Accountancy to students in grades 11 and 12, as well as BBA and BBS programs. The training included new course materials (NAS & NFRS) recently integrated into the curriculum.

    The inauguration session was chaired by Mr. Suresh Pandit, the President of NCA College. Mr. Rabin Katwal, the head of ACCA Nepal, welcomed the chief guests, distinguished guests, and participating teachers, highlighting the objectives and significance of the program. Additionally, he presented tokens of appreciation to the esteemed guests.

    Professor Dr. Bijukumar Thapaliya, Vice-Chancellor of Purbanchal University, inaugurated the program by lighting a traditional lamp and delivered an address. Other notable speakers included Professor Binod Aryal, Executive Director of Madan Bhandari Memorial Foundation; Kedar Prasad Guragai, Mayor of Sundarharaicha Municipality; Bheshraj Pokharel, Central Vice President of HISSAN; Jeevan Gadtola, Head of National Examination Board, Biratnagar; Rajan Poudel, President of N-PABSON, Koshi Province; and Dron Bahadur Shrestha, President of Nepal National Teachers’ Organization, Jhapa. Representatives from various organizations including HISSAN, PABSON, and N-PABSON from Morang, Sunsari, and Jhapa districts also attended the event.

    In his keynote address, Chief Guest Professor Dr. Bijukumar Thapaliya emphasized the importance of IFRS in the context of Nepal and called for a renewed discussion on educational standards. Professor Binod Aryal highlighted the global popularity of ACCA, suggesting that everyone involved in the education sector should be well-informed about it. Jeevan Gadtola remarked on the relevance and utility of this training in light of the recent curriculum changes for grades 11 and 12 by the National Examination Board.

    NCA College has been providing quality ACCA professional education to Nepali students for the past 20 years. In 2010, the college was recognized as an Approved Learning Partner/Gold by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants for its quality of education. It was the first college in Nepal to receive approval from the Ministry of Education to conduct ACCA preparatory classes. ACCA, UK, administers the Chartered Accountancy course offered by the college.

    The one-day training was conducted by Mr. Karn Thapa, and President Suresh Pandit provided information about the ACCA course and NCA College. At the end of the program, certificates were distributed to the participants by Mr. Jeevan Gadtola, Head of the National Examination Board, Biratnagar. The event was coordinated and conducted by educationist Narayan Acharya.
