EDUCAST, The Embassy of Israel has announced the commencement of a meaningful two-week mission by the Israeli NGO, “Heroes for Life,” in Nepal. Running from October 1st to October 14th, this mission sees a dedicated delegation of 34 Israeli volunteers engaging in valuable initiatives across five different schools within the Kathmandu Valley.
The primary focus of this mission revolves around infrastructure and education development in the selected schools. What sets “Heroes for Life” apart is their commitment to maintaining continuity in their work, as they return annually to the same schools, ensuring a lasting and substantial impact on the education system in Nepal.
Beyond the educational aspect, this collaborative effort nurtures invaluable people-to-people connections between the Nepalese and Israeli communities. It serves as a testament to the enduring friendship and strong bilateral relations between Nepal and Israel, with this volunteering activity marking just one of many projects undertaken during the 63 years of diplomatic relations.
To honor the volunteers and partner institutions, a reception was held at the Ambassador’s residence. Ambassador Goder commended the openhearted approach of the volunteers, schools, and collaborating organizations in facilitating this impactful process. He expressed his pride in their dedication and emphasized that this positive trend would continue to flourish in the years to come.
During the reception, participants also had the opportunity to share and celebrate the Israeli tradition of “Sukkot,” a significant Israeli festival observed at this time of the year.
