EDUCAST, In a momentous event organized by the SAARC Journalist Forum, distinguished Mauritian writer Dr. Sarita Budhu, graced the international conference as the chief guest. The accomplished author, also the wife of former Mauritian Prime Minister Haresh Budhu, was bestowed with high honors by Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.
During the meeting held on Wednesday evening, Governor Arlekar presented Dr. Sarita Budhu with an exquisite traditional dress and a commemorative souvenir. Dr. Budhu, who serves as the President of the “Bhojpuri Speaking Union” established by the Mauritius Government, engaged in discussions with the Honorable Governor, on the developmental initiatives for Hindi and Bhojpuri in Mauritius.
Accompanying Dr. Budhu were Dr. Anil Sulabh, President of India-Mauritius Maitri Sangh, and Bihar Hindi Literature Conference. The eminent personalities discussed various aspects of cultural exchange and cooperation between Mauritius and Bihar. Dr. Budhu also took the opportunity to extend an invitation to the World Bhojpuri Festival scheduled to take place in Mauritius in April, an event in which she is actively involved.
Highlighting the literary contributions of Dr. Budhu, she presented Governor Arlekar with copies of her two acclaimed books, “Kanya Dan” and “Geet Gawai.” The esteemed gathering included Dr. Shashi Bhushan Kumar, Editor of Human Rights Today and senior journalist, who is also the President of the SAARC Journalist Forum’s Bihar Chapter. Additionally, Sudhakar Dwivedi, Special Officer of the Governor, and journalist Adil Parvez graced the occasion, adding further significance to the event. This momentous interaction served as a platform for fostering cultural ties and promoting literary endeavors between Mauritius and Bihar.
