EDUCAST, The Education Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) recently concluded its 18th Annual General Meeting at the Alice Reception venue in Gairidhara, Kathmandu. The event, held on Sunday, brought together key figures from the education sector, with Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Suresh Adhikari, gracing the occasion as the chief guest. The meeting was presided over by ECAN Central President Seshraj Bhattarai.
Distinguished personalities in attendance included Mahanayak Rajesh Hamal, Ex-Chairman Rajendra Baral, Bishnu Hari Pandey, Ex-Chairman Prakash Pandey, and representatives from various organizations and sectors. The general meeting garnered a spirited participation from ECAN member consulting professionals.
The program, deftly conducted by Secretary General Deepakraj Bhusal, commenced with a warm welcome speech from Senior Vice President Laxman Poudel. During the proceedings, the organization successfully passed pivotal documents such as the annual report, audit report, and organizational report. Additionally, the action plan for the upcoming year received unanimous approval.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Suresh Adhikari emphasized the inevitability of overseas migration, underscoring the need for systemic changes in Nepal’s education framework. Adhikari articulated that timely exams, prompt result announcements, and an elevation in the standard of educational institutions within Nepal are critical factors to mitigate the trend of students seeking education abroad. Furthermore, he acknowledged the role of educational consultants as instrumental in facilitating students not only in pursuing studies overseas but also in transforming their lifestyles.
