    FECON Wraps Up 13th Annual General Meeting with Pledge to Boost Nepal as an Educational Hub

    Free Educational Consultancies’ Organization Nepal (FECON) successfully concluded its 13th Annual General Meeting held at Silver Oak Banquet and Events in Garidhara.With the overarching goal of establishing Nepal as an educational hub, the General Assembly addressed critical issues within the consulting business sector.

    Chaired by FECON President Raju Niraula, the event hosted Pramila Kumari, Minister of State for Education, Science and Technology of the Government of Nepal, as the chief guest. Notable attendees included HE Felicity Volk, the Australian ambassador to Nepal, Simanta Koirala, Deputy Secretary of the Government of Nepal, and head of the Educational Consultancy Certification Branch, Deepak Khadka, the former Consul General of NSW State in Australia, Nirmal Mani Adhikary, Associate Professor of Kathmandu University, and representatives from IDP and the British Council.

    Umesh Kushwar, Senior Vice President of FECON, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, providing an overview of FECON’s pivotal role in the education sector. Kushwar acknowledged the collaborative efforts that brought the organization to its current stature, urging support for FECON’s primary agenda—making Nepal a prominent educational hub.

    Chhabindra Ojha, the general secretary of FECON and the event organizer, briefed the attendees on the organization’s upcoming campaign to position Nepal as an educational hub. He called for constructive advice, suggestions, and support from all stakeholders.

    Former FECON President Yuvraj Katwal expressed gratitude to the attendees, including the Australian Ambassador, and delved into the challenges faced by the consulting business sector. He offered recommendations to the Minister of State for Education, emphasizing the need for state-level policies to address sector-specific issues.

    HE Felicity Volk, the Australian Ambassador to Nepal, lauded FECON’s initiative and highlighted the growing bilateral relations between Nepal and Australia in the education sector. She underscored the attractiveness of Australia as an educational destination for Nepali students, citing cultural, social, and lifestyle factors. Volk encouraged graduates to return and contribute to Nepal’s development.

    Dr. Nirmal Mani Adhikary, Head of Department of Language and Communication at Kathmandu University, shared insights into the efforts to make Nepal an educational hub. He emphasized the potential for Nepal to become a center for certain subjects and called for collective positive efforts.

    The program also included the acknowledgment of individuals from various fields who supported FECON. Representatives from other organizations, including EKAKA and IERIN, discussed the current state of the consulting business, its contributions, and the challenges faced.

    In her address, Minister of State for Education Pramila Kumari commended FECON for its positive contributions to educational development. She pledged ministerial-level initiatives to address the challenges faced by the consulting business sector and affirmed the government’s commitment to fostering education.

    Raju Niraula, FECON President, concluded the formal program by expressing gratitude to all contributors and highlighting FECON’s commitment to further strengthening the organization. He emphasized the need for a conducive environment to support the campaign of positioning Nepal as an educational destination, both for outbound consultants and international students.

    The 13th Annual General Meeting of FECON concluded with a call for unified efforts to propel Nepal into a prominent role in the global educational landscape.
