EDUCAST, The Hyatt Regency in Boudha was abuzz with excitement on March 22 as the prestigious Cambridge Learner Award ceremony unfolded, jointly organized by the British Council and Cambridge International Education. The event, dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievements in the November 2022 and June 2023 Cambridge examination series, drew dignitaries, educators, parents, and students alike.
With a legacy spanning 65 years, the British Council Nepal has been instrumental in promoting cultural exchange, education, and language proficiency. This event further solidified its commitment to fostering educational opportunities and strengthening ties between Nepal and the UK.
Among the distinguished guests were Rob Fenn, the British Ambassador to Nepal, Mahesh Srivasthava, the Regional Director for South Asia International Education at Cambridge University Press Assessment, Satyajit Sarkat, Senior Manager for East India, Bangladesh, and Nepal of Cambridge International Education, Harriet Gardner, the Regional Exam Director for South Asia at the British Council, and Shahida MacDougall, the Country Director of the British Council Nepal, alongside principals, academic coordinators, and representatives from various educational institutions.
Students from renowned institutions such as British School, Trinity International College, St Xavier’s College, Nami College, Budhanilkantha School, and Malpi Institute were honored for their exceptional performances across various Cambridge International AS Level subjects. Awards were presented in categories including Information Technology, Further Mathematics, Literature in English, Environmental Management, and more.
Harriet Gardner commended the students for their remarkable accomplishments, underscoring the British Council’s partnership with Cambridge International Education in providing globally recognized qualifications. She reiterated the organization’s commitment to assisting students in realizing their aspirations through Cambridge International Exams, IELTS exams, or UK qualifications, with the overarching goal of promoting peace and prosperity worldwide.
