Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) Concluded Hospitality Stakeholder Collaboration 2024

    EDUCAST, Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM), along with its affiliated colleges, recently concluded a series of impactful events aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation within the hospitality industry. The Youth Symposium, Industry Academia Symposium and Leadership Session held on April 7th and 10th, brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, including KUSOM members, government officials, representatives from educational institutions, and distinguished personalities.

    The programs, inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp, served as a platform for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and strategic partnerships to address the challenges and opportunities within the hospitality sector. Dr. Bijay Kumar KC, the esteemed dean of KUSOM, extended a warm welcome to the attendees, expressing his commitment to bridging the gap in skilled manpower within the tourism and hospitality industry through collaborative efforts between the private and government sectors.

    Throughout the events, various presentations were delivered on topics ranging from memorandum of understanding between the educational and government sectors in the hospitality industry to ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing the quality of Nepal’s tourism sector. Discussions had centered around the need for concerted efforts from all stakeholders, including businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, and students, to drive qualitative development within the tourism sector.

    Foreign and local experts shared insights on effective cooperation mechanisms, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in producing skilled manpower to meet the industry’s evolving demands. Vice Chancellor Bhola Thapa reiterated the university’s commitment to enhancing the practical learning experiences of BHM and BPH students through collaboration with industry professionals.

    Registrar of Kathmandu University, Prof. Dr. Achyut Prasad Wagle, highlighted Nepal’s vast potential in the tourism industry due to its diverse natural and geographical landscapes. He underscored the pivotal role of the hospitality sector in realizing this potential, stressing the necessity of collaboration between the government and private sector to drive sustainable growth.
