A new Television show, “Destination UK,” is shedding light on the experiences of Nepali students pursuing higher education in British universities. Presented by Bizz Education and Produced by Jupiter Media for News 24 Television, the program features interviews with university officials, faculty, and current students, with a particular focus on Nepali representatives.

Several universities, including the University of Central Lancashire, the University of Wolverhampton, and the University of Hertfordshire, University of Bedfordshire, Solent University, University College Birmingham, University of Worcester and other universities have participated in the filming of the Television show “Destination UK.”

The program is supported by universities across the UK, such as the University of Creative Arts, Oxford International Education Group, York St. John University, and the University of the West of Scotland.

Jupiter Media’s “Destination UK” Television show aims to showcase top universities in the UK for News 24 Television. To achieve this, the production team conducted interviews with a wide range of individuals, including university leaders (Vice Chancellors), international representatives from the universities, faculty members, international students in general, Nepali students specifically, and members of the Nepali community residing in the UK.

“Destination UK” highlights the achievements of Nepali students in the UK. University officials like Professor Ebrahim Adia, Vice Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton, speak to the success of Nepali graduates and their utilization of post-graduation opportunities.

In an interview for “Destination UK,” Ula Tang-Plowman, the director of international recruitment at the University of Central Lancashire, discussed the university’s positive aspects for international students. She highlighted the welcoming environment of the city of Preston, the university’s strong academic programs, and its commitment to supporting the success of international students, including Nepali students.

The program goes beyond academics, showcasing the vibrant Nepali community in the UK and the importance of cultural connection for students. It explores Nepali traditions, festivals, and the overall cultural experience students can expect.

Planning for Success: Importance of Preparation

While celebrating success stories, “Destination UK” also acknowledges the challenges faced by some Nepali students. The Television show raises concerns about a lack of preparation among some students, who may arrive without relevant work experience, prior training, or a clear plan for managing university assessments and finances.

Hari Karki, CEO of Bizz Education, emphasizes the importance of preparation. He warns that a lack of preparedness can negatively impact academic performance and potentially harm the reputation of Nepali students in the UK. Karki advises students and parents to carefully consider university fees and living expenses before embarking on an international education journey.

“Study in Nepal” Campaign Launched

In response to feedback from students and universities, Jupiter Media has launched the “Study in Nepal” campaign. This initiative aims to promote Nepali universities, colleges, and vocational institutions offering foreign university programs.

The program suggests a strategic approach for students seeking to establish themselves in the UK. Earning a bachelor’s degree in Nepal followed by vocational courses and a master’s degree in the UK could be a more successful path for some students.
