Apex College Organizes Exciting Cricket Competition in Partnership with Hub International Education

EDUCAST, The much-anticipated Apex Inter College Cricket Tournament is all set to commence this Sunday, promising an electrifying display of cricketing talent. Organized by Apex College in collaboration with Hub International Education, this exhilarating competition is scheduled to run until October 23, featuring a total of 16 teams, including one from outside the valley. The tournament will adopt the exciting Twenty20 format, ensuring action-packed matches for cricket enthusiasts.

Competing Teams and Groups

The participating teams have been strategically divided into four groups, promising intense clashes right from the group stages. In Group ‘A’, cricket fans can look forward to showdowns between Shikshantar College, Astha College of Management(Jhapa), Phoenix College of Management, and Bluebird College. Group ‘B’ boasts a formidable lineup with Kantipur College of Management and Information Technology, Liverpool, Ace Institute of Management, and Islington College. Group ‘C’ features Kathmandu School of Law, Rainbow International, Patan United Campus, and Ratna Rajya Campus, while Group ‘D’ hosts Apex, St. Xavier’s, Kathmandu University, and Thames.

Road to the Quarterfinals

The top two teams from each group will secure their passage to the quarterfinals, ensuring fierce competition as teams vie for a spot in the knockout stage. Excitingly, the organizers have announced that the quarterfinal matches will be broadcast live on television, allowing fans to witness the action from the comfort of their homes.

Prizes and Rewards

As the stakes are raised, so are the rewards. The final is going to be held at the lower cricket ground of Moolpani. The champion of the tournament, will claim a generous prize of Rs 150,000, while the runner-up will receive Rs 75,000. Additionally, the coveted Player of the Series will pocket Rs 15,000, with the best bowler and batsman each earning Rs 10,000 in cash along with a cricket kit. Each Player of the Match will be rewarded with a cricket kit worth Rs 2,500.

Sandesh Katuwal, Head of Strategy at Apex, expressed his enthusiasm, noting that this annual competition aims to make each edition truly special. Asmita Paudel, the project manager of the tournament, assured that all preparations have been meticulously completed, and the participating teams and players are brimming with excitement.

Uddhav Bahadur Khadka, Head of Hub Education, highlighted the growing attraction of cricket among the new generation a key reason to join the tournament as the main sponsor. Sanjay Basnet, Treasurer of the Bagmati Province Cricket Association, revealed plans to incorporate this prestigious tournament into the province’s annual calendar starting next year.
