CESTour holds second project meeting

    KATHMANDU: CESTour Team held its second project meeting in Kathmandu, Nepal.

    During the meeting, the project partners reviewed the status of the project work and also exchanged ideas to implement the Center of excellence at seven Asian Partnering Institutes.

    During the 3-day project meeting in Kathmandu, the planning and implementation of the Centers of Excellence and its activities to promote Sustainable Tourism were discussed.

    The CESTour Project focuses on the Development of Sustainable Tourism Centers of Excellence to impact the future mindset of the tourism industry in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. CESTour (Centers of Excellence in sustainable tourism to boost economic development and enhance university-business cooperation in the Southern Area) is funded by the European Union, through the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education.

    There are ten Partners from seven countries – FH JOANNEUM Gesellschaft mbH, Austria, Universitá di Lingue e Comunicazione, Italy, University of Alicante, Spain, Birla Institute of Management and Technology, India, Institute of Public Enterprise, India, Nirma University, India, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka, Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka, Tribhuvan University, Nepal and Global College International, Nepal.

    Sustainable tourism aims to conserve fragile ecosystems, combat climate change lessen the amount of waste and pollution resulting from tourism and celebrate local cultures and improve the livelihoods of host communities.
