Three Arrested Over Alleged Forgery of Government Seals and Documents in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: Police have arrested three people for their alleged involvement in forging government seals and signatures and preparing fake documents of government offices, local authorities, cooperatives and schools.

According to the District Police Range Kathmandu, a police team from the Singh Durbar Police Circle raided Passion Foundation Consultancy located in Putalisadak, Kathmandu, following information that forged government seals and signatures were being used to prepare counterfeit documents.

Police said they seized documents from various municipalities, rural municipalities, cooperatives and schools, along with letterheads, official seals, laptops and materials used for making stamps.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 34-year-old Sandeep Karki of Gaurigunj Rural Municipality, Jhapa, currently residing in Lalitpur; 25-year-old Sangeeta Magar of Sandhikharka Municipality-11, Arghakhanchi, currently residing in Budhanilkantha; and 20-year-old Ankita Nepal of Belkotgadhi Municipality-7, Nuwakot, currently residing in Gongabu.

Police have initiated further investigation into the case under offences related to forgery of written documents. The Kathmandu District Court has granted police a three-day remand to investigate the accused.

Authorities said the seized materials are being examined, while investigations are also underway to determine whether the group was involved in other incidents involving the production or use of forged documents.
