FECE-NEPAL Holds Candle-Lighting Ceremony in Memory of Flood and Landslide Victims

EDUCAST,  The Federation of Educational Consultancy Entrepreneurs Nepal (FECE-NEPAL) organized a candle-lighting and tribute ceremony at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Monday evening to commemorate those who lost their lives in devastating floods and landslides in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading.

The ceremony was held on the 13th day of the victims’ passing, with participation from representatives, office bearers, and members of numerous educational consultancy associations affiliated with FECE-NEPAL. Bringing various educational consultancy associations under one umbrella, the Federation organized the program as a collective expression of solidarity and remembrance from Nepal’s educational consultancy sector.

Participants lit candles and offered heartfelt tributes to the departed souls, praying for their eternal peace. They also expressed condolences to the bereaved families and solidarity with communities affected by the disaster.

Speaking at the ceremony, FECE-NEPAL President Rajendra Baral expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones.

“This candle-lighting ceremony is not only an occasion to pay tribute to those who lost their lives, but also a collective expression of solidarity with the bereaved families and affected communities. Representatives of various associations affiliated with the Federation have come together with a shared sense of responsibility and humanity,” Baral said.

He emphasized the need for stronger coordination among the government, private sector, social organizations, and other stakeholders to make rescue, relief, recovery, and rehabilitation efforts more effective in the affected areas.

President Baral added that the educational consultancy sector has responsibilities beyond its professional activities and should contribute to society during times of national crisis. He reaffirmed FECE-NEPAL’s commitment to continuing relief and support initiatives for disaster-affected communities in coordination with its affiliated associations.

Representatives of the participating educational consultancy associations also emphasized the importance of collective initiatives to support communities affected by the floods and landslides.

The candle-lighting ceremony brought together multiple educational consultancy associations under the umbrella of FECE-NEPAL, conveying a strong message of unity, remembrance, and solidarity with the victims and affected communities of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and other disaster-hit areas.
