EDUCAST, The Embassy of Israel in Nepal organized a cultural exchange visit featuring three prominent Israeli caricaturists—Mr. Nissim Hezkiyau (Nusko), Prof. Itamar Daube, and Mr. Uri Fink—from September 28 to 30, 2026.
As part of the initiative, an Israeli-Nepali Cartoon Exhibition titled “Highest and Lowest on Earth” took place in Kathmandu on September 28. The event showcased satirical and visual art exploring the parallel between the Dead Sea (the lowest point on Earth) and Mount Everest (the highest point on Earth). The Israeli section was curated by Mr. Nissim Hezkiyau, while the Nepali section was led by Mr. Rajesh KC and Mr. Rabi Mishra of the Cartoonist Club of Nepal.
During the exhibition, the visiting artists hosted a live caricature session, creating personalized portraits for guests. Welcoming attendees, Ms. Janan Bebar, Chargés d’Affaires a.i. at the Embassy of Israel, stated, “Cultural events such as this offer a wonderful opportunity to bring our peoples even closer through art, creativity, and human connection.”
In addition to interactive sessions with local artists, the Israeli caricaturists delivered guest lectures and workshops for Journalism and Mass Communication students at Tribhuvan University and Dibyabhumi Multiple College. Topics covered included “The Notion of Motion,” “Everyone Can Make Comics Workshop,” and “On the Face of Caricature Portrait.”
