Joint Group Painting Exhibition 2026 Organized by Nepal-Russia Art Club, Sushma Art Gallery, and Russian House in Kathmandu

EDUCAST,  The Nepal-Russia Art Club and Sushma Art Gallery, in collaboration with the Russian House in Kathmandu, organized a Group Painting Exhibition 2026 at the Russian House premises in Kathmandu. The exhibition runs from September 9 to September 16, 2026.

This year’s exhibition holds special historic significance as it commemorates 70 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Russia (established on July 20, 1956), celebrating a long standing journey of friendship, cultural exchange, mutual respect, and bilateral cooperation.

The formal inaugural function was held on September 9, 2026, at the venue’s lobby, bringing together parliamentarians, diplomats, community leaders, and fine art enthusiasts.

The program commenced with MC Madhav Pradhan inviting Anastasia Khokhlova, Director of the Russian House in Kathmandu, to present ceremonial Khadas to the distinguished guests. The event was officially inaugurated with the lighting of the traditional Panas lamp by the Chief Guest and special dignitaries.

Madan Shrestha, Secretary of the Nepal-Russia Art Club, delivered the welcome address, followed by highlight remarks on the displayed artworks presented by artist Dharma Raj Shakya. During the ceremony, the Nepal-Russia Art Club formally announced its new executive committee members.

Addressing the audience, Anastasia Khokhlova, Director of the Russian House, expressed her greetings and highlighted the continuous role of art and cultural exchange in strengthening diplomatic ties and civil friendship between Nepal and Russia across seven decades. Member of Parliament Hon. Bhumika Subba also extended her greetings and commended the organizers for creating a shared platform for artistic expression.

Delivering the Chief Guest address, Hon. Padma Aryal, Member of Parliament and former Minister, emphasized the value of international cultural collaboration and praised the vibrant collection of paintings on display.

The formal proceeding concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sushma Rajbhandari, President of the Nepal-Russia Art Club, followed by the presentation of tokens of love to the Chief Guest by the organization and the Director of the Russian House. The evening ended with a commemorative group photograph and a networking reception for guests and participating artists.
