EDUCAST, The Embassy of France in Nepal has officially handed over a consignment of in-kind emergency humanitarian assistance to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA). This relief package aims to bolster immediate recovery and emergency operations across local communities severely affected by the devastating floods on August 26.

The materials were dispatched following a formal request by the Government of Nepal through the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism. The handover was conducted by the French Ambassador-designate, Ms. Françoise Puig-Inza, to the Honourable Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun. The aid consignment contains critical supplies including floor mats, hygiene kits, kitchen kits, water purification tablets, solar lamps, and urgent as well as general medicine kits. Reaffirming support, Ms. Puig-Inza stated that France stands in complete solidarity with Nepal and remains committed alongside the EU to helping vulnerable populations recover and rebuild.

In addition to this direct in-kind support, the French Government announced further contributions to international relief efforts in the affected region. These operations will be carried out through United Nations agencies, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and active French INGOs including Action Contre la Faim and Triangle Génération Humanitaire. The Embassy also expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and the Government of Nepal.
