KATHMANDU: The examination for an engineering license will be conducted within the next three months. Nepal Engineering Council member Dr. Ajay Kumar Jha said that preparations are being made to take the exam within the next three months.
In the farewell program held by the Department of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Science and Humanity of Nepal Engineering College Duwakot Changunarayan Bhaktapur on Friday, Dr. Jha said that the firm will be opened within two months. The date of the exam has not been decided yet, but we will conduct the exam within three months at the latest, he said.
He said that the exam will be 100 whole marks. He informed that the passing percentage will be 50. He said that there will be 100 full marks exams with 60 questions of one number and 20 questions of two numbers per question by choosing one correct answer out of four. He believed that everyone could easily pass the exam as there would be only general questions. Even if you tick these questions based on guesswork, there is a possibility that you will get 20 or 30 by yourself, he said, after reading a little, you will pass easily.
From this year, the engineering students who have passed their graduation have to take an additional exam to get a job. After passing the college exam, they have to pass the Nepal Engineering Council exam for the license to work. Earlier, they had permission to work by obtaining a council license.
Durga Prasad Bhandari, Vice Principal of Nepal Engineering College, Duwakot Changunarayan Bhaktapur, suggested that they should not be completed, but actually started their studies. I request all passing out students to take this as the beginning of their studies as they will learn along with the work, he said. He felt that there are both opportunities and challenges in the engineering profession.
In the program, the academic coordinator of the college, Baburam Bhatrai, associate professors Sachin Shrestha, Rabindra Kumar Budhathoki, Ajay Khadka, etc. instructed the students who passed out of the college to be brand ambassadors of the college to work efficiently.
In the program, 140 civil engineering students and 46 architect students from three groups were bid farewell. Prizes and certificates were also distributed to the best students in the program.
