EDUCAST, In a move to promote quality international education within Nepal, the International Education Providers’ Association of Nepal (IEPAN) hosted a one-day educational fair at the Everest Hotel in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. Under the theme “Study in Nepal, Stay in Nepal,” the fair aimed to inform students about the opportunities available through colleges affiliated with foreign universities operating in Nepal.
IEPAN’s President, Laxman KC, emphasized the benefits of obtaining an international degree while remaining in Nepal. He suggested that students could achieve career success and seize opportunities domestically rather than studying abroad. KC highlighted the significant role of IEPAN-member colleges in producing skilled IT professionals in recent years.
The fair featured stalls from over 25 colleges affiliated with IEPAN, where students received guidance on higher education options. Attendees had the chance to inquire about the colleges’ physical and educational infrastructure, career prospects, job opportunities after graduation, and available scholarships.
The event also included a ‘Lucky Draw’ for students to win various gift hampers. Over 3,000 students attended the fair, reflecting strong interest in local educational opportunities.
Currently, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has granted permission for 59 institutions to offer classes under foreign university affiliations in Nepal.
