Successful Seminar and Alumni Meet Held in Kathmandu by NSCI and Sichuan University Delegation

    EDUCAST, Newtonian Science Counselling Institute Pvt. Ltd. (NSCI), the official representative of West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University since 2001, successfully organized a Seminar and Alumni Meet at Hilton Hotel, Kathmandu. The event brought together prospective students, alumni, and distinguished guests to learn about the opportunities available at Sichuan University, China.

    The event commenced at 3:00 PM with a vibrant cultural dance performance by Nepali students who have been selected for the International Business program at Sichuan University under scholarship for the upcoming September intake. Unica Shrestha, one of the selected students, captivated the audience with her melodious singing performance.

    Dr. Man Bahadur KC, a renowned cardiologist and former personal physician to Late Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, graced the event as a special guest. Sharing his personal journey as a graduate of Wuhan University, he highlighted the immense career opportunities available after studying at top Chinese medical universities.

    Distinguished guests from Sichuan University included Ms. Pu Shi Lu (Director, International Students Office), Ms. Lei Hong (Coordinator, MBBS Program), and Mr. Liu Ting Lin (Head of Student Affairs, School of International Education). Ms. Pu Shi Lu presented an insightful video about Sichuan University, touching upon its global academic standards, scholarship options, and student exchange programs. Ms. Lei Hong elaborated on the MBBS program’s strengths, emphasizing advanced teaching methodologies and modern infrastructure. Mr. Liu Ting Lin introduced the Chinese language program and gave a glimpse into the vibrant student life and cultural immersion in China.

    During the student interaction session, Redima Limbu, a newly admitted MBBS student for the September intake, actively engaged with the panel, raising thoughtful queries about academics and student life in China.

    The alumni sharing session was another highlight. Dr. Shashi Shah, who completed his MBBS and MS from Sichuan University and holds a PhD in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, currently serves as a surgeon at Karuna Hospital. He spoke about his enriching academic experience and career growth. Similarly, Mr. Tsewang Gonpo, a graduate in International Business Management (Full Scholarship) from Sichuan University, shared his entrepreneurial journey of establishing a successful handmade product business in Nepal.

    The Alumni Meet segment from 6:00 to 7:00 PM provided a platform for former students to reconnect and share their experiences, further strengthening the Nepal-China educational bond.
