30th ECAN Day Marked with Blood Donation and Candlelight Tribute in Solidarity with Bhotekoshi Flood Victims

EDUCAST, In response to the emergency situation caused by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi region, the Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN), in collaboration with the Lions Club of Kathmandu Siddhartha Evergreen, organized a blood donation drive and candlelight tribute, dedicating its 30th ECAN Day to humanitarian action and solidarity.

The blood donation drive was conducted at Sallyan House, Bagbazar, witnessing active participation from educational consultants, volunteers, and well-wishers. ECAN stated that the initiative was organized to address the urgent demand for blood needed for the treatment of victims during this severe natural disaster. The association expressed its sincere gratitude to all blood donors, volunteers, program coordinators, and supporters for their invaluable contribution.

In light of the national mourning following the disaster, ECAN postponed its formal anniversary celebrations scheduled at Hotel Everest, choosing instead to focus its flagship 30th ECAN Day on humanitarian values under the theme “Humanity Above Celebration”. In addition to these local initiatives, ECAN contributed NPR 1,501,000 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support search, rescue, and rehabilitation operations across the affected corridors.

As part of the commemorative events, a symbolic tribute and candlelight vigil were held at Maitighar Mandala, Kathmandu, on Bhadra 13 (August 29). Participants paid homage to those who lost their lives in the Bhotekoshi disaster, expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families, and offered prayers for the swift rescue of missing individuals and the speedy recovery of the injured.

ECAN reiterated its firm commitment to social responsibility, emphasizing that solidarity and unity must prevail in service to humanity during times of national crisis.
