Book Release & 198th Tolstoy Anniversary Celebrated in Kathmandu

EDUCAST, The Nepal-Russia Literary Society (NRLS) and the Russian House in Kathmandu jointly organized a special event today, September 11, 2026, featuring a book release and the commemoration of the 198th birth anniversary of legendary Russian writer Lev Tolstoy.

Held at the Russian House Conference Hall, the program featured the release of the anthology “About Motherland & Love”, celebrating creative contributions and cultural ties between Nepal and Russia.

Chaired by NRLS President Er. Vishnu B. Singh, the event welcomed Rinchen Rakshaev, Minister Counsellor of the Russian Federation to Nepal, as the Chief Guest, alongside Anastasia Khokhlova, Director of Russian House. Key presentations included a book review by Prof. Dr. Geeta Tripathee and poet Avaya Shrestha, as well as greeting messages from Moscow by Tamara Viktorovna Potyomkina. During the event, Certificates of Appreciation from the Russia-Nepal Cooperation and Friendship Society were presented to 21 distinguished authors and supporters.
