The Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) has expressed serious concerns regarding the recent notice issued by the Ministry of Education and Sports concerning the “Educational Consultancy, Language Teaching, and Preparation Classes (Operation and Management) Directives, 2083.”

While acknowledging the notice’s effort to register long-waiting consultancies and those licensed by provincial ministries under the central system, ECAN has strongly opposed several provisions deemed impractical and complex. These controversial clauses include strict requirements on building and classroom details, tax clearance certificates for FY 2082/83, branch office permissions, and name changes. ECAN President Laxman Paudel stated that proceeding unilaterally without addressing pending amendment proposals causes significant concern.

ECAN urges the government to make registration simple and practical, make temporary interim provisions for disputed rules, quickly issue pending renewals, and host an immediate joint meeting to resolve ongoing confusion. Note: The full original press release text issued by ECAN is provided in the attachment.
