FECON Lights Candles in Memory of Flood and Landslide Victims in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading

Kathmandu: The Free Educational Consultancies’ Organization Nepal (FECON) organized a candle-lighting ceremony in Kathmandu on Monday evening in memory of those who lost their lives in the devastating floods and landslides that recently affected various parts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.

The candle-lighting program was held at Putalisadak Chowk, near Shanker Dev Campus, under the leadership of FECON President Umesh Kushwar. Representatives and members of the educational consultancy sector, FECON office bearers and members of the public participated in the event.

Participants lit candles and paid heartfelt tribute to those who lost their lives in the natural disaster. FECON also expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and solidarity with communities affected by the floods and landslides.

Speaking at the program, FECON President Umesh Kushwar expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the disaster and called for more effective rescue, relief and reconstruction efforts in the affected areas.

President Kushwar also said that a FECON team had already visited the flood-affected areas, assessed the situation on the ground and provided initial support to affected families and communities. He emphasized that FECON’s support would continue in the days ahead.

“We have already visited the affected areas, directly witnessed the situation of the victims and provided initial assistance. Our support will not end with the first phase. FECON will continue to stand with the affected communities and provide further assistance based on their needs,” Kushwar said.

Similarly, FECON General Secretary Dipendra Pokhrel said that the organization had already distributed the first phase of relief materials to people affected by the disaster.

He said FECON would continue its relief and support initiatives in the coming days, recognizing the ongoing needs of affected communities.

“FECON has already taken the first step by distributing relief materials to the affected communities. The needs of the victims remain significant, so we will continue our relief and support initiatives in the coming phases,” Poudel said.

FECON stated that, during this difficult period, it is committed to fulfilling its social responsibility as an organization representing Nepal’s educational consultancy sector and will continue supporting relief, recovery and rehabilitation efforts for disaster-affected communities.

The candle-lighting ceremony was also intended to convey a message of solidarity to the affected families and communities, assuring them that the educational consultancy sector stands with them during this difficult time.

FECON is continuing its humanitarian support alongside its professional responsibilities, with further relief initiatives planned for the affected communities.
