Hostel Entrepreneurs Association Nepal Celebrates Its Fourth Annual Anniversary

EDUCAST, The Hostel Entrepreneurs Association Nepal has successfully celebrated its fourth annual anniversary with a variety of programs. The association has been bringing together hostel entrepreneurs from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Morang, and Kaski districts while working to strengthen institutional activities and professional unity among hostel businesses.

The fourth annual anniversary was held on Monday, Shrawan 25, 2083 B.S., at A-One Party Palace, Shankhamul, Kathmandu.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, a blood donation program was organized from 11 a.m. with the health partnership and support of Everest Hospital. Hostel entrepreneurs, employees, and other interested participants took part in the blood donation initiative.

The formal program began at 1 p.m. under the chairmanship of association President Kiran Sharma. Deepak Adhikari, Acting Chief of the Revenue Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, attended the event as the chief guest. The program was conducted by association General Secretary Debraj Kandel.

The formal ceremony was inaugurated by chief guest Deepak Adhikari. Association representative Bindira Kumari Neupane delivered the welcome remarks. Deepak Chandra Baral, Chief of Everest Hospital, addressed the gathering.

Uddhav Bahadur Khadka, President of the Nepalese Association of Australian Education Representatives (NAAER), highlighted the important role of hostel and accommodation service providers in the national and international education sector.

According to Khadka, access to quality education alone is not sufficient for students. Safe, reliable, well-managed, and affordable accommodation is equally important for ensuring a positive and successful student experience.

He emphasized that hostel and accommodation services are directly connected to a student’s overall educational journey, particularly for students pursuing education abroad. A safe and supportive living environment can significantly contribute to students’ academic performance, wellbeing, and day-to-day experience.

Khadka also stressed the need to recognize hostel and accommodation businesses in Nepal as an important supporting component of the education ecosystem. He noted that stronger coordination among educational institutions, education consultants, accommodation providers, and relevant authorities can help create safer, more organized, and student-friendly services.

With the international education sector continuing to expand, Khadka said accommodation management has increasingly become an integral part of the student mobility and education ecosystem. He emphasized the need to make the hostel and accommodation sector more organized, professional, responsible, and service-oriented at both the national and international levels.

Anuta Dhakal and Junnu Dhakal also delivered remarks during the program. They shared their views on the current status of the hostel business, challenges faced by hostel entrepreneurs, and the importance of cooperation and coordination among business operators.

The anniversary celebration also featured a special musical performance by popular Nepali folk singer Badri Pangeni. His performance added further entertainment and enthusiasm to the event.

A token of appreciation and honor program was also organized as part of the anniversary celebration. Individuals and guests who have contributed to the establishment, development, and institutional activities of the association were recognized and honored with tokens of appreciation.

The association also celebrated its fourth annual anniversary by cutting a commemorative cake. Chief guest, invited guests, former association President and Election Chief Revati Kumar Khadka, among others, delivered congratulatory remarks and best wishes on the occasion.

Addressing the event, speakers emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among hostel entrepreneurs to make the hostel business more organized, professional, and dignified. They also highlighted the importance of continuing institutional initiatives to address the common issues and challenges faced by hostel businesses.

The Hostel Entrepreneurs Association Nepal has been organizing and representing hostel entrepreneurs in Kathmandu Valley as well as districts including Morang and Kaski. The association has been continuously working on issues related to the common concerns, rights, and professional interests of hostel entrepreneurs.

The association has expressed its commitment to further organizing and professionalizing the hostel business while continuing various initiatives in support of the professional interests of entrepreneurs and social responsibility.

The fourth annual anniversary, which included a blood donation campaign, formal ceremony, recognition and honors, cultural performance, cake-cutting ceremony, and exchange of greetings, further strengthened unity, cooperation, and institutional relations among hostel entrepreneurs, according to the organizers.
