Israeli Theatre Production “Without an Evil Eye” Staged in Kathmandu

EDUCAST, The Embassy of Israel in Nepal facilitated the performance of Without an Evil Eye, an inspiring one-man theatrical production by Israel’s Nephesh Theatre, on 5 November 2026 in Kathmandu. Prior to this event, the play was also featured on 4 November as part of Theatre Festival 2026 – Season 6, organized by Imperial World School in collaboration with the 6th LaLaBaLa Kathmandu International Children’s Theatre Festival 2026.

The one-hour performance, attended by students from Pragya Kunja alongside invited guests, seamlessly blends theatrical storytelling with stand-up comedy. Written and performed by Israeli actor Asaf Ben Shimon, the play portrays his personal journey through the gradual loss of his vision and his ultimate discovery of a renewed appreciation for life. The production team also featured Nephesh Theatre’s Artistic Director Howard Rypp, who served as producer and translator, and Technical Director Noam Toplian.

Welcoming the production to Nepal, Israeli Ambassador Shmulik Arie Bass highlighted the unifying strength of artistic expression:
