Pakistan Expresses Deep Condolences, Stands in Solidarity with Nepal Following Bhotekoshi Flood Disaster

EDUCAST,  Top Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Ambassador to Nepal Mohammad Aamir Khan, have extended deep sorrow and solidarity to the government and people of Nepal following catastrophic flash floods and landslides along the Bhotekoshi River. The disaster—triggered by an ice-rock avalanche in the high Himalayas—has caused immense loss of life and destroyed vital infrastructure across northern and central Nepal.

Diplomatic Engagements in Kathmandu and Islamabad -Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Mohammad Aamir Khan, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in Kathmandu on Wednesday to sign the official condolence book. Expressing grief over the tragedy, Ambassador Khan reaffirmed that Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the people and Government of Nepal during this hour of trial.Simultaneously in Islamabad, Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid a high-level visit to the Embassy of Nepal to personally convey his condolences.

The Prime Minister was received by Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan, H.E. Ms. Rita Dhital. Prime Minister Sharif was accompanied by key members of his cabinet and senior officials, including Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amb. Amna Baloch. Signing the condolence book opened in memory of the victims, Prime Minister Sharif expressed Pakistan’s heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and the nation.

Bilateral Support and Reassurance –The Prime Minister’s visit reinforced the commitments he previously expressed during a direct telephone conversation with Nepali Prime Minister Balendra Shah. During that call, Prime Minister Sharif pledged Pakistan’s complete support and assistance for ongoing relief efforts. Ambassador Dhital expressed sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Sharif for his visit and reassuring words, highlighting that the gesture reflects the enduring friendship between the two nations. She also briefed the Prime Minister on the current situation in the flood-affected regions and the ongoing state of bilateral cooperation.
