EDUCAST,  Israeli diplomats and embassy officials stationed in Nepal exercised their democratic right today, October 15, casting their votes for the upcoming election of the 26th Knesset (Israeli Parliament) at the Embassy of Israel in Kathmandu.
The early polling conducted at the embassy in Kathmandu allows diplomats, embassy staff, and eligible official representatives residing abroad to participate in the democratic process prior to the general election scheduled to take place in Israel on October 27, 2026.
Following the close of voting, all sealed ballot envelopes will be securely transported via air to Israel, where they will be delivered directly to the Central Elections Committee at the Knesset to be counted alongside votes cast nationwide on election day.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal, H.E. Shmulik Arie Bass, highlighted the importance of the voting process and the resilience of Israel’s democratic institutions.
“Today is a special day—the Day of Democracy in Israel,” said Ambassador Bass. “After several years, this election is taking place in accordance with the law, exactly four years after the last parliament, as it should be in a democratic state. Today, we are voting for a new parliament. I am exercising my right to vote, as a citizen of a democratic state.”
Israel’s election process for diplomatic missions abroad is a long-standing tradition enabling foreign service personnel, military attachés, and designated state employees serving across global missions to cast their ballots ahead of the general populace in Israel.
